Benjamin Moore Paint in Seattle
From 1994 to 1999 Shearer Paint exclusively used Benjamin Moore Paint which we purchased at Seattle Paint Supply then owned by my friend Jim Carol. We relied on their two flagship products Moorgard; an exterior alkyd modified latex paint , and Satin Impervo the industry leading interior enamel paint. John Shearer was featured in a Benjamin Moore contractor promotional video in 1997, and was the guest of Lead Chemist Harley Fung to the Los Angeles manufacturing facility in 1998. Shearer Painting grew up with Ben Moore paints and we still use their paint; almost exclusively.
In 1883, Benjamin Moore and his brother, Robert, began a small retail paint company called, “Moore Brothers” in New York. They only sold exclusively to independent retailers with only one product (Moore’s® Prepared Calsom Finish), but business soon took off. Moore believed in “the exercise of intelligent industry in the spirit of integrity,” as well as producing high-quality paint.
Today, Benjamin Moore (a Berkshire Hathaway company), manufactures at 7 plants, have 22 distribution facilities, and sells paints, stains, and accessories to over 4,000 independent retailers.
At Benjamin Moore factories, they’re always trying to find “the perfect color.” Their scientists and technicians are always working to go beyond what they’ve already done. Customers have often exclaimed, “that’s the color I want.” This is no small feat when catering to people from varied backgrounds and economic status.
